I’m an environmental writer based in Brooklyn, NY, focusing on urban parks and natural areas, sustainability, land conservation, wildlife, and related issues.

As a columnist from 1999-2012 for Gotham Gazette, the New York City policy and politics website, I covered parks and innovative efforts to reimagine urban public space in New York City. I've published articles in Audubon, Land & People, Landscape Architecture, and other magazines, and wrote Rescuing Wetlands Close to Home: Ten Stories of New England Landowners (The Trust for Public Land, 2006).

Freelance services include in-depth reports; case studies; policy papers; environmental communications (strategic planning, website creation, content management, social media, newsletters, brochures and fact sheets); fundraising communications (annual reports, grant proposals and reports, direct mail packages); and park signage and guides. I can manage your project from concept through production.
